Our Vege Patch is Flourishing!

Hi everyone!

I wanted to update you on how our vege patch is going outside our classroom.
It's exciting to see the plants grow bigger and bigger everyday, they're Room 2's little babies!

This is what they look like now

Our Broad Bean plants are getting so big!

We have a little bit of a dilemma. It's almost the school holidays. What do you think we should do to make sure these plants get enough water while everyone's on holiday?

Room 2's Vege Patch

Kia Ora bloggers!

We wanted to show you our little vege patch outside our classroom.

This is what it looked like before:

We had a lot of weeding to do in our garden patch before we could start planting. So here are some students from Room 2 plucking out the weeds, preparing the patch!

With all our vege patch almost done, we decided to add some beautiful pink flowers to add a POP of colour !

Our vegetable patch has: silver beet, broad beans, broccoli and cauliflower.
And of course our pretty pink flowers (which are not edible!)

Here is our finished garden - What do you think?

At first, a lot of the students didn't want to do the gardening, they were just going to stay inside and do some school work because they thought getting their hands dirty was a bit yucky - but when they saw the students that were outside, gardening having so much fun, they all decided to join in. At the end of our gardening block, everyone had a lot of fun and they wanted to do more gardening!

Have you ever tried something for the first time and hated it, but the more you did it, you end up really enjoying it and having fun? What was it?

Let us know in the comments!

Alert Level 3

Hi Everyone!

New Zealand is on alert level 3 at the moment, so that means we still need to stay home where we can.
We get the news on Monday if we will be going into level 2 or if we will be extending level 3.

How has level 3 been for everyone?
I feel it would be the same as level 4, but with fast food! (Yay! I've definitely been missing some chicken nuggets from McDonalds)

What kind of fast food have you had since level 3 started?
Are you excited to come back to school?

Remember to be kind and help those who might need it.

NZ on Lockdown

Kia ora koutou

You might have noticed why our blog hasn't had much activity for a few weeks, this is because New Zealand has been on lockdown due to COVID-19.
It was originally meant to be for 4 weeks, but it has now been extended an extra week.

I've been experimenting in my kitchen with food and drinks that I've missed because all the food places are closed. Here are some photos of the food I've made:

I made some Vietnamese Summer Rolls which were DELISH!

Made the famous "Dalgona Coffee"

And made my own Cream Cheese foam with Jasmine Tea. (This is my favourite!)

What have you all been doing since lockdown?

I'd LOVE to see some photos or stories of what you've been getting up to at home!

Self Portraits

This week in Cybersmart we learnt how to do self portraits using Google Drawings and the "Colorpick Eyedropper" extension on Google chrome.
Here is our teacher's profile photo turned into a piece of art on Google Drawings.
It took us a long time to do our own faces, you really need patience and perseverance when doing your own portrait!
You should have a go and show us on your blog!
