Alert Level 3

Hi Everyone!

New Zealand is on alert level 3 at the moment, so that means we still need to stay home where we can.
We get the news on Monday if we will be going into level 2 or if we will be extending level 3.

How has level 3 been for everyone?
I feel it would be the same as level 4, but with fast food! (Yay! I've definitely been missing some chicken nuggets from McDonalds)

What kind of fast food have you had since level 3 started?
Are you excited to come back to school?

Remember to be kind and help those who might need it.

NZ on Lockdown

Kia ora koutou

You might have noticed why our blog hasn't had much activity for a few weeks, this is because New Zealand has been on lockdown due to COVID-19.
It was originally meant to be for 4 weeks, but it has now been extended an extra week.

I've been experimenting in my kitchen with food and drinks that I've missed because all the food places are closed. Here are some photos of the food I've made:

I made some Vietnamese Summer Rolls which were DELISH!

Made the famous "Dalgona Coffee"

And made my own Cream Cheese foam with Jasmine Tea. (This is my favourite!)

What have you all been doing since lockdown?

I'd LOVE to see some photos or stories of what you've been getting up to at home!

Self Portraits

This week in Cybersmart we learnt how to do self portraits using Google Drawings and the "Colorpick Eyedropper" extension on Google chrome.
Here is our teacher's profile photo turned into a piece of art on Google Drawings.
It took us a long time to do our own faces, you really need patience and perseverance when doing your own portrait!
You should have a go and show us on your blog!

A sinking feeling

We have been learning to create animations using Google Slides that give viewers the illusion of movement.

Bread Tag Collection Update

Hi Everyone!

There has been some questions about our bread tag collection. So we thought rather than answering your comments one by one, it'll be better to make an update post.

So far our class ALONE has collected almost 200 bread tags! Our school as a whole has collected much more!

Here are Room 2's bread tags piled into 10's in rows of 5's.

In Room 2 we collect our bread tags in an old yogurt container that has had a little make over with paper, glue and felts.

Dog Care 3000

Last week we had our first lesson with Nane about robotic computation.
She let us design our own robots and give them a name and a purpose.

Here is Room 2's Teacher's Robot Design.

This robot is called the Dog Care 3000.
It is designed to fill the food bowls and water bowls of dogs. It can also shoot out dog treats for your dog when you're not home. What's even better is that YOU, the owner of the dog, can control the robot with your smart phone. The Dog Care 3000 has a swivel arm and can throw toys to keep your dog entertained while you are at work or at school.

What do you think of the robot?
If you were to design a robot, what would you name it, and what would be its' purpose?
